Claw Guide — All 5 Claws and Upgrades

Claws in TOY CRANE are not just different colours. Arm length, opening width, grip, slip and speed all change the physics. Swapping to the right claw is part of the skill.

Basic Claw (N)

The three-prong chrome claw you start with. Length, opening width and grip are all average, so it works on anything but excels at nothing. It is all you need for the early levels and the best claw for learning to aim and use the view switch. It upgrades to level 5.

Mini Pinch (R)

Short arms and a narrow opening, but it bites hard on small objects and moves quickly, which makes it very efficient on boards full of small plushies. Big, heavy prizes slip right out because the arms can’t wrap around them. Recommended for chicks, hamsters, mice and small balls.

Long Reach (R)

Long arms open wide enough to wrap the body of a large plushie and reach prizes buried deep in the pile. The trade-off is a slightly weaker grip that can let go when the claw jolts at the top, so aim precisely over the centre of mass.

Rubber Grip (SR)

Thick rubber pads on the tips give it huge friction. It shines on slippery prizes — balls, gift boxes, capsules — more than on fluffy plushies. It closes slowly, so make sure the prize can’t roll away before the prongs meet.

Golden Titan (SSR)

The premium golden claw with top-tier grip, length and slip resistance. It lifts big plushies reliably, but it isn’t magic: grab the wrong spot and you will still miss. You can try a fully upgraded Golden Titan for free until you clear level 3.

Upgrades

Claws you own can be upgraded with coins. Each step adds +1% grip and slip resistance. It sounds small, but it is exactly the margin that keeps a prize in the claw when it jolts at the top. Costs rise with each step and every claw has a cap (5–12), so no claw ever becomes a guaranteed win.

You can buy and upgrade claws from the lobby at any time, even mid-level. In the game, tap the current-claw icon to swap to another claw you own (if the claw is moving, the swap happens when it finishes).

Which claw should I buy?

With your first savings, buy Mini Pinch to blast through small-plush levels, or Long Reach to prepare for large plushies, which appear from level 6. In the mid game, when balls and boxes join the mix, Rubber Grip is a safe pick. Long term, save your piggy bank and level bonuses for the Golden Titan. See choosing the right claw for situational advice.
